A “baba” is a small sweet yeast cake made by various ethnic groups for centuries. Much like a brioche, babas are made from a rich batter of milk, eggs, and butter.
These mini baba cakes are soaked in lemoncello, a traditional Italian lemon flavored liqueur, and can be enjoyed straight out of the jar or with ice cream, Chantilly, English cream, or zabaglione.
